Spoleto Finale
This past weekend we had the opportunity to be a part of the Spoleto Finale at Middleton Place in Charleston, SC. For 17 days and nights each spring, Spoleto Festival USA fills Charleston, South Carolina’s historic theaters, churches, and outdoor spaces with performances by renowned artists as well as emerging performers in opera; theater; dance; and chamber, symphonic, choral, and jazz music. Now approaching its 41st season, Spoleto Festival USA is internationally recognized as America’s premier performing arts festival.
Each year the festival closes out with a big bash at Middleton Place Plantation with thousands of people in attendance to enjoy an evening of food, a whole lineup of music (including Nathaniel Rateliff And The Nightsweats) and a breathtaking display of fireworks overlooking the banks of the Ashley River.
Spoleto SCENE, a dynamic group of Spoleto Festival USA patrons in their 20s and 30s, hosts a private picnic for its members - and this year Moore & Giles was the sponsor. Nestled under a canopy of oaks, Spoleto SCENE's picnic featured small bites and dinner by Wise Buck, refreshing beer by Revelry Brewery and Mexican mules courtesy of Patron. SCENE's picnic also included classic lawn games including corn hole by Matthias Kaupermann and Moore & Giles' own horseshoes.
This was a magical summer evening we will not soon forget…
