Proudly Made in
the USA

Each piece is handcrafted in North Carolina from solid hardwood, then wrapped in our Italian leather, admired for its rich color palette and natural character. Paired with mohair—a natural fiber with a velvet-like hand and luminous sheen—the result is a design that balances enduring strength with refined softness. Together, these natural materials embody sustainability and lasting quality, showcasing the artistry that defines the Traynham Collection.

Velvet Depth & Lasting Beauty

Natural Mohair
Mohair is a natural fiber sourced from the fleece of Angora goats and prized for its exceptional strength and resilience. Naturally elastic and remarkably durable, it retains its beauty through years of use while becoming even softer over time. With its subtle, velvet-like sheen and depth of color, mohair brings an understated elegance and enduring sophistication to any piece.

Tanned in Italy

Mont Blanc Leather
Mont Blanc is our signature leather. Tanned in Bassano del Grappa, Italy, it is celebrated for its durability and timeless appeal. Each hide features natural markings and will develop a patina that deepens with age, giving every piece a character that cannot be replicated. It embodies the artistry and values at the heart of Moore & Giles.
Mohair FAQ
Mohair is a natural fiber prized for its beauty, strength, and enduring performance

What is Mohair?

Mohair is a natural fiber sourced from the fleece of Angora goats and valued for its exceptional strength and resilience. Naturally elastic and remarkably durable, it retains its beauty through years of use while becoming even softer over time. With its subtle, velvet-like sheen and depth of color, mohair brings an understated elegance and lasting sophistication to any piece.

How does Mohair hold up over time?

Mohair is often described as a luxury workhorse, combining softness with lasting durability. Its fibers are strong and elastic, allowing it to maintain structure and comfort through years of use. Similar to leather in resilience, mohair brings both strength and refinement, making the two a natural pairing of durability and sophistication. As a pile fabric, it will develop subtle shading like velvet, which adds depth and character. With an 80,000 double rub rating (Wyzenbeek/Martindale), mohair is considered extreme-use, commercial grade and will not wear thin, even with regular use.

How should I care for Mohair?

Vacuum Regularly: Use a soft brush attachment to remove dust and prevent soil buildup.

Brush Occasionally: Gently brush with a soft-bristle upholstery brush to maintain the nap and sheen.

Professional Cleaning: For difficult stains or overall cleaning, use a professional upholstery cleaner experienced with mohair.

How should I care for Leather and Mohair together?

Spot Cleaning: Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub. For water-based stains, lightly dampen a cloth with distilled water and blot.

Avoid Heat & Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause fading. Keep away from heat sources to preserve the integrity of both materials.
